J-Basket Japanese Style Sanuki-fu Udon Noodles

J-Basket Japanese Style Sanuki-fu Udon Noodles

J-Basket brand’s japanese style sanuki-fu udon noodles are very similar to the Shirakiku brand udon noodles in size, price, taste, and texture. The biggest difference between the two is that while the Shirakiku brand udon noodles are individually packed inside the package, these are not.

They reheat quickly in boiling soup without getting gummy, and they also retain their texture after 20-30 minutes in warm soup without getting soggy. Overall, if you’re looking for frozen udon noodles, the biggest differentiator between all the brands is going to be their price. Other than that, every frozen udon noodle’s probably going to taste very similar compared to one another.

How I cooked them:

Used as the noodles in my tomato noodle soup (cooked for about 8 minutes over medium-low heat).

  • Cost: $5.99 ($3.98 on sale) for a 44.2 oz package of 5 noodle blocks (April 2026)
  • Storage: Freezer only.
  • Rating: 5/5
